Red lentil patties and so much sesame

After art class, Waverly and I went home and cooked red lentil patties with tahini sauce and salad. I wanted to learn how to use red lentils in dishes other than dals and I thought this one came out well! Cooking many patties like these and then freezing them is such an easy way to have ready to eat, healthy food. You can eat them like a sandwich or also break it up in a salad.

I thought these patties were pretty good but not especially amazing or out of this world. Because these are so versatile, and you just need the right ratio of dry to wet ingredients, I want to experiment with different ingredients and collect a few patty recipes that are especially delicious. I also wonder if I could cook grains and beans together, before putting them in a patty, to make a complete protein.

We also roasted some frozen broccoli, although they were kind of over cooked and mushy, I thought they went great in the salad because they added a great depth of flavor and the burnt leaf bits were so good

We also sprinkled some of the Trader Joe's Everything but the Bagel seasoning. I bought it a while and haven't gotten the change to use it on anything yet but it was good with this dish. It might also be really good in a salad dressing!
